Better Today

It's Friday night and I'm exhausted. As I sit here pumping one last time for the day, I reflect on how much better I feel today than I did at the beginning of the week. Today I was able to appreciate the sweetness and beauty of our Nathan. I took many pictures and had some great snuggle time with him. He is such a sweet little guy and I am appreciating that today.

I'm going to try really hard to live in the now as much as possible. Yes, it's necessary for me to look ahead some to make sure we're getting the care Nate needs in the time he needs it, but I do have the tendency to look much farther ahead than necessary. Here are some pictures I've taken in the last couple of days. Nate is starting to smile more, has found his hands, is starting to suck his thumb and cooing a lot at his little toys in his play gym.l It's hard to believe he's already 3 months old.

  1. He's absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I can't wait to meet him in July! I wanted to offer you a place to stay if you don't have one yet. Let me know if you do and it's yours!! My parents have a big home with an extra bedroom and bathroom with a crib and everything and I wanted to offer it to you first :)!!!
Let me know! So good to hear you feeling more positive!

  2. Good news Danielle about Nathan's hearing. I wanted to tell you that all three of my kids ended up getting tubes in their ears because of tons and tons of ear infections. We have a really great ENT if you need one, would be happy to give you his number. Alex has gone in four times for ear tubes and finally after the second time we ended up getting T tubes because the others fell out and his ears just kept having ear infections. For the girls we did the T tubes right away, didn't mess around (I knew the expense and the winter months with out the tubes was awful). With Alex I was a little scared, but after the procedure it was like he could totally hear better and his speech was better etc. He was even walking better (I think he was almost 1 when we did the first set of ear tubes, he's now 7). I know you probably aren't at this point yet, but would really recommend them if you run into that.

    Take care!!
